The grapes are from 40 year old vines on clay and calcareous soil from Weingut Nägele in Baden. After picking, they were left in the cold overnight performing a cold maceration. The next day they were pressed and the juice was transferred into 500L barrels to ferment and age.
This year the winemakers Antoine Lucchesi and Daisy Merrick have decided not to disgorge the wine. Meaning the yeast particles are still inside the bottle. Therefore your wine may look a little cloudy.
The notes are of green apple, with creamy mouthfeel, lots of little bubbles all over the tongue, slightly wild.
IMPORTANT / WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE OPENING THE BOTTLE:
- ENSURE THE BOTTLE IS COLD!
- KEEP IT STANDING UP THE RIGHT WAY IN THE FRIDGE
- DO NOT SHAKE THE BOTTLE
- OPEN OVER THE SINK WITH A GLASS READY

Naturally fermented with indigenous yeasts, this Nebbiolo will easily become your muse.
Undergoing alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, then aged in ceramic vats for 12 months, this wine is under the domain of the Italian / Irish producers Maurizio and Deirdre, who make up the small Cascina Val Liberata in Piemonte in the north of Italy. The vineyard is located in a valley surrounded by forests and fields, without the presence of conventional agricultural practices.

This is a Sicilian table wine that is anything but everyday. From the volcanic region of North Etna, the varietal Nerello Mascalese is noticeably characterized by the rocky terroir. Despite its fieriness, the wine has a subtle aroma of raspberries, sour cherries, and licorice. This hides a present but unobtrusive, delicately floral style typical of the grape variety. Fresh on the palate, with fantastically fine tannins, stimulating acidity and animating astringency. A wine that can bridge the gap between fresh, fruity, structured, and serious.

About the makers
We are Cecilia and Laura and we brought VULVA SECCO 2022 to life because we want to set an example. Our friend died of breast cancer at a very young age - an indescribable loss for us that had a deep impact on us. She had given Cecilia a vulva colouring book for Christmas and was a role model for us in feminist issues and discussions about equality. Out of our grief came the idea of wanting to create something to donate our profits to organisations that promote cancer research and support those affected.
This is how VULVA SECCO was born - a tribute to us women and especially to our friend.

Pours the color of the morning sun, bright yellow, juicy, hazy. Huge nose of soft, ripe, juicy mango, sticky-sweet pineapple and peach. Lip-smacking bitterness with tropical fruit and crisp citrus. Like eating a large, fleshy orange in a pine forest during a summer sunrise.
Chela (4.2 % abv): Mexican Style Lager
Summer is almost here, really. I saw the sun myself the other day when it peeked out from behind the seemingly eternal gray. In preparation for the inevitable arrival of the sunshine, we decided to brew the perfect beer companion. This Mexican-style lager is light, crisp and super refreshing. It’s bursting with the flavor of fresh lemons and pairs perfectly with a slice of fresh lime to double your refreshment.
